Who I am as an Editor
My mission as an editor is simple: build your confidence while making your story shine.

As a fellow creative, I know your needs extend beyond novels. Whether you're applying to MFA programs, polishing short stories, or crafting residency applications, I'm committed to supporting writers as they find their unique path to success. I've spent decades crafting words and honing my editorial eye, from editing my high school feature page to screening stories for literary magazines and manuscripts for literary agents.
Like most writers, I've wrestled with the creative life; writing and editing
fulfill the soul but rarely the bank account. I became a mental health counselor
specializing in trauma and career transitions. Strange bedfellows, perhaps, but
sometimes our paths choose us.
Everything shifted in 2023 when I decided to take my writing seriously and enrolled in The Book Incubator. The program not only boosted my confidence, but it showed me how to elevate my craft and revealed something crucial: the transformative power of professional editorial feedback. Craft books and workshops are essential, but they teach you to think like a writer. It’s just as important to understand how editors and agents see your work.
You've probably sat in critique groups where well-meaning feedback has the potential to turn your story into literary roadkill if you follow every suggestion.
Here's the truth: feedback matters, but not all feedback serves your story equally.
My background as a therapist gives me something most editors lack: deep
understanding of the emotional landscape of creativity. Writing is intellectually and emotionally demanding work. While I am particularly drawn to horror projects because I know how challenging it can be to excavate those dark corners of imagination, whatever your genre, I'll be there to support you through every draft.

Let's bring your story to life together.
